Ribbon and Glue Blog Hop
Today the Helmar Design Team are teaming up with the designers at Ribbon Carousel, to bring you a jam packed Hop filled with with crafty goodness!
Ribbon Carousel has some wonderful ribbon organizers and that is how this amazing company started. Today, we get to feature some other wonderful products that they carry (RIBBON!!!), so hop along with us and have fun (and be inspired)!
Now, what do I have to share with you today??
First I am sharing some sweet treat bags. We do not celebrate Halloween in our home, BUT once in a great while I do surprise my children with a little treat and when the ribbon arrived I knew I wanted to create a little Autumn Treat for each of them.
I started with the beautiful colors of the ribbon and knew I had some paper that matched exactly! The Scaredy Cat line from Pretty Little Studios was sent in my design team package and I knew I would struggle with most of it, BUT when the ribbon came I put it all together and knew some projects would fall together. haha. "fall" together.
I searched around a bit to find some pretty supplies to finish my look and ended in a shop where I usually find little bits I adore, "Made by Mish", and I found everything else I was needing to complete my bags... thanks Michelle!
The truth is these treat bags are fast and easy to make but have a lovely finished look! I started with the simple glassine sacks. I stamped a simple sentiment with a black stazon pad and the Hero Arts PB&J clear stamp set, and added two fussy cut pumpkins from the patterned paper. I then threw a couple of chocolates into the bags. (YUM) I stapled them close with a doilie that was misted with black drops of mist. I added some Scaredy Cat paper strips (love the colors!!) and a strip of Ribbon Carousel ribbon next and stapled them down as well. Next, I added bits of the Ledger Apothecary Cards to the tops. I created a big ribbon bow with more of the Ribbon Carousel ribbon and glued it onto the design at the top, finishing it off with two buttons stitched together. I left all of the thread on the buttons and wound it in a circle design between the buttons and the bow. I finished the bags off with some of the Ribbon Carousel's bakers twine. I even added a couple of clothespins and fussy cut- stitched pumpkin garland to a couple of the bags. I will honestly say i was SO SO glad I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry on these bags because it helped secure EVERYTHING fast and before it could be messed up by the baby in the Ergo! YAY!
I cannot wait to give my children this special chocolatey treat!!
Next, I wanted to share a new page I adore using the same products, but in a whole new way! I love how you can use the same things and it can look so different. I am sure you will see a lot of that on the hop today!
"the pumpkin patch"
the cut apart Jack O'Lantern Bunting Flags are so so cute... I stitched a few together and used my Helmar Premium Craft Glue to stick them good.
layering those buttons again...
more ribbon layers... yummy...
one thing I look forward to ALL year is this special trip to a local farm I adore! It has become a tradition we share with a few home school families that we share life with. It is sweet and it is a joy to see how my children change over the years. These photos were taken just last year and I see all sorts of change in these girls.... they just keep growing and it pulls the strings of this mama's heart. tug, pull, tears.
